Police say no foul play in death after finding body in suitcase at northeast Salem apartment complex
Linson Lavell Johnson, 51, faces charges of abuse of a corpse after police say he loaded an apartment resident's body into a suitcase and put it in the trunk of the dead man's car. An autopsy found no signs of foul play in the death.

S-K school board director, county commissioner considers removing children from district
Danielle Bethell, a Salem-Keizer School Board director, took to Facebook on Nov. 23 to ask followers for any "middle school/high school homeschool pods in Keizer area." She said the district's "the lack of real education and safety being provided in our schools today," has led her and her family to look at other options for education.
