Gail Gage Jazz, a Salem-based group, tuned up for its first scheduled performance since coronavirus restrictions took hold by inviting neighbors to its rehearsal.

They gathered in what was described as "COVID casual" on Friday evening outside Gage's home on Northeast Canary Court. Gage wanted to get her group together and remember the feel of a live audience.

The jazz band is scheduled to perform at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 27, at Ankeny Vineyard, 2565 Riverside Dr. S.

Gage, an attorney by day, plays guitar and bass. Other members of the group include Kevin Gage, Carolyn Gage, George Head, Erik Moulton and Jesse Salas.
